Top 3 Mortgage Questions — Answered!

Hi friends, I’m Kurt Rogers, Managing Broker at Affordable Interest Mortgage. Over the past few weeks, I’ve had some great conversations with clients and radio listeners—and 3️ questions keep coming up, so I figured, let’s answer them right here!

  1. Is now a good time to buy a home?
Yes—but with strategy. 🧠 Whether it’s your first home or a move-up, opportunity exists. Inventory is still competitive, but we’re seeing creative financing solutions and more seller flexibility. The key? Know your budget and get pre-approved 📑

  1. What about rates or home values dropping?
We all want lower rates 💸—but timing the market perfectly is tough. If you find the right home and can afford it now, it often makes more sense to buy now and refinance later when rates drop (we call it “date the rate, marry the home” 💍🏠). Home values may fluctuate slightly, but long-term, they’ve remained strong.

  1. Is it a buyer’s or seller’s market?
It’s leaning toward a balanced market ⚖️. Buyers have more power than they did in 2021, but sellers are still seeing strong offers—especially for well-priced homes. Negotiation and guidance matter more than ever!

Whether you’re just starting your search or ready to make a move, I’m here to help you navigate it all. 🙌
